review\" width=\"700\" height=\"377\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Set the QN85B among a host of new models from other manufacturers and you&#8217;ll have a hard time telling it apart.\u00a0However, this is not bad &#8211; the TV should stand out with the image on the screen, and not with what this screen is clothed in.\u00a0A thin black frame (silver in some locales) borders the huge screen area of \u200b\u200bthe 55-inch Samsung QN85B.\u00a0With a thickness of 2.7 cm, the QN85B is well suited for wall mounting.<\/p>\n<div id=\"alfadart_30076\" class=\"refresh alfadart-processed serial1\"><\/div>\n<h3>Image quality<\/h3>\n<p>At first glance, the QN85B looks like another typical Samsung VA panel.\u00a0However, it is not.\u00a0The specification specifies ultra-wide viewing angles.\u00a0This, coupled with a 1400:1 non-local dimming contrast ratio, confirms the use of an IPS panel.\u00a0Specifically, in model 55QN85B &#8211;\u00a0ADS matrices\u00a0.\u00a0But the local dimming feature boosts the contrast significantly, pushing it up to around 2000:1.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the\u00a0mini LED\u00a0backlight with a large number of adjustment zones (a little over 500), the dimming control algorithm leads to a more accurate result.\u00a0Moreover, in game or dynamic image mode, the perceived contrast is even higher.\u00a0Backlight bleeding around bright objects against a dark background is almost imperceptible and increases slightly at an angle.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung QN85B TV compatibility with HDR is traditional for the company.\u00a0That is, HLG and HDR10 + are supported, Dolby Vision is not.\u00a0Samsung can go on and on about all the reasons why its TVs don&#8217;t require Dolby Vision, but its absence will no doubt annoy some consumers, especially given the preference for this HDR format for both Netflix and Apple TV.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/31_techweek.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-10401\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/22_techweek.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/22_techweek.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/28_techweek.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/29_techweek.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/30_techweek.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/31_techweek.jpg 1920w\" alt=\"Samsung QN85B - design\" width=\"700\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As a quantum dot TV, the Samsung QN85B also exhibits exceptional colors.\u00a0The increased brightness (around 1500 nits peak) delivers the most saturated reds, greens and blues, and no matter the type of content, you can count on accurate color reproduction.\u00a0Coverage of about 96% of the DCI-P3 (HDR) color gamut is quite acceptable.\u00a0Nevertheless, lovers of real flowers can recommend\u00a0Samsung QN90B\u00a0.<\/p>\n<div id=\"alfadart_30078\" class=\"refresh alfadart-processed serial1\"><\/div>\n<h3>Smart TV<\/h3>\n<p>Samsung equipped the QN85A with a 4K Neo Quantum processor with AI features.\u00a0It is responsible for the formation of a three-dimensional depth image and for the operation of the user interface based on the Tizen OS.\u00a0The latter can be controlled either using two remote controls, or using voice assistants, or using the Samsung Smart Things application.<\/p>\n<p>One remote is a generic, cheap device with many buttons, many of which are too small, but with a wide range of functions.\u00a0The other unit (SolarCell) is sleek, solar-powered, looks presentable, but is a bit limited in its capabilities.\u00a0Voice control is via Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, or Samsung&#8217;s own Bixby.<\/p>\n<div id=\"alfadart_30079\" class=\"refresh alfadart-processed serial1\"><\/div>\n<h3>Game Mode<\/h3>\n<p>The one area the QN85B doesn&#8217;t excel in is motion control.\u00a0Game content is often filled with fast and complex movements on the screen.\u00a0Slight flickering of the edges is the most common occurrence, although ghosting and image duplication are so rare as to be negligible.<\/p>\n<p>The main draw is HDMI 2.1, which offers increased data transfer rates coupled with the TV&#8217;s native 120Hz refresh rate.\u00a0This allows you to play 4K \/ 120 fps games.\u00a0The QN85B also supports FreeSync, AMD&#8217;s version of the variable refresh rate (which prevents screen tearing and artifacts while gaming).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/35_techweek.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-10402\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/23_techweek.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/23_techweek.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/32_techweek.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/33_techweek.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/34_techweek.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.stereoreviewer.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/35_techweek.jpg 1920w\" alt=\"Samsung QN85B - switching\" width=\"700\" height=\"351\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s also a low latency auto mode that, when enabled, automatically launches Game Mode when the QN85B detects a signal from the console.\u00a0The updated game panel has the ability to select different settings presets for different games depending on the genre.<\/p>\n<h3>Sound<\/h3>\n<p>It&#8217;s not that Samsung didn&#8217;t try to fit the QN85B with a good audio system.\u00a0Four full-size speakers with a total power of 60 watts work in a lightweight version of the Object Tracking Sound system.\u00a0And yet the sound quality here is as far from picture quality as an Aston Martin is from karting.\u00a0But the TV is never actively obnoxious or noisy, even at high volume.<\/p>\n<p>The sound is soft, flat and kind of frameless.\u00a0And this means that you will most likely have to invest in a soundbar.\u00a0And be sure to pay special attention to Samsung&#8217;s Q Symphony line &#8211; they allow screen speakers to contribute to the overall sound, rather than being replaced by a soundbar.<\/p>\n<h3>Connections<\/h3>\n<p>There are four HDMI 2.1 inputs on the back of the Samsung QN85B Neo QLED.\u00a0One of them supports\u00a0eARC\u00a0.\u00a0Alternative inputs include a pair of USB connectors, an Ethernet input, and antenna jacks for a pair of built-in TV tuners.\u00a0A digital optical output completes the range of physical inputs and outputs.\u00a0Wireless connectivity works via Bluetooth 5.2 and dual-band Wi-Fi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>QN85B Price<\/strong><br \/>\nAt the moment (April 2022), the price of the Samsung QE55QN85BAU TV is $ 1,500 in online stores. The Samsung QE65QN85BAU TV is priced at $2,000, the QE75QN85BAU costs $2,800, and the largest TV in this series, the QE85QN85BAU, is priced at $3,800.<\/p>\n<h3>Conclusion<\/h3>\n<p>Its features are comparable to QN90B, but when it comes to brightness and color, it can&#8217;t compete.
