A year ago, as a result of cooperation between the Japanese company Sharp<\/strong>\u00a0and the German\u00a0Leica<\/strong>\u00a0, smartphones with an inch sensor were released: the Japanese Sharp Aquos R6 and the first, as it were, German Leica smartphone – Leitz Phone 1.<\/p>\n

It cannot be said that these smartphones are “twin brothers”, it would be more correct to call them “twins”: they look somewhat different, but the filling is almost the same: a Japanese smartphone, a German camera module.<\/p>\n

As expected, the Leica version of the smartphone is sold much more expensive than the Japanese “brother”, which is in the tradition of the pricing policy of the German company.\u00a0We cannot comment on how successful sales are, but according to the German resource\u00a0Photografix-magazin,\u00a0Leica is preparing to release another\u00a0Leitz Phone 2<\/strong>\u00a0smartphone .\u00a0Like the first time, it will be the “brother” of the recently announced Sharp Aquos R7.<\/p>\n

Aquos R7 (and hence Leitz Phone 2) will replace the old 20.2 MP sensor with a new 47 MP resolution and high-speed Octa PD autofocus.\u00a0A Leica lens with a focal length of 19 mm and a fairly fast aperture of f\/1.9.\u00a0In addition, the main camera will now be able to shoot 8K video.<\/p>\n

The new smartphone should receive a large 6.6-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2730 x 1260 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a brightness of 2000 nits and a color depth of 10 bits.\u00a0Inside the Aquos R7 is a new high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory, which can be expanded up to 1 TB even with microSD, a 5000 mAh battery.<\/p>\n

Aquos R7, like its predecessor, is only for the Japanese market and will be available in July, the price has not yet been announced.\u00a0At the same time, most likely, his German “brother” Leitz Phone 2 will also be presented, and it is unlikely that it will cost less than the first version, which is currently on sale for ~$1800.<\/p>\n
